What happens during the first hospice visit?

The first hospice visit is designed to make you feel comfortable and informed. A nurse will conduct a comprehensive assessment of the patient's physical condition, symptoms, and current medications. This helps us create a personalized care plan that addresses your specific needs.

During this visit, we discuss your goals for care, including preferences for pain management, spiritual support, and family involvement. We want to understand what matters most to you so we can honor those wishes throughout the hospice journey.

If medical equipment is needed, our team coordinates delivery often on the same day. This might include a hospital bed, wheelchair, oxygen equipment, or other supplies that improve comfort and safety at home.

We also take time to answer all your questions. Many families feel anxious about what hospice will look like, and we want to address every concern. By the end of the first visit, you should have a clear understanding of what to expect and how to reach us whenever you need support.
