Can hospice help patients with Alzheimer's or dementia?

Hospice care is an excellent fit for patients with advanced Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia. When dementia has progressed to the point where a patient can no longer walk, speak more than a few words, or eat and drink adequately, hospice becomes eligible and highly beneficial.
